THE CHALLENGE

Wood is a natural polymeric composite material, with a spectrum of useful properties. The use of wood in various applications, require treatment, to prevent weathering, decay and other forms of degradation, in order to extend the service life of wood products.

In current times, products with low toxicity and economic viability are more desirable, in order to prevent or prohibit the uncontrolled release/leaching of environmentally hazardous, toxic pollutants found in contemporary wood-preservation chemicals, that are harmful to human health, animals and plants. It is for this reason, that environmentally sustainable alternatives are necessary, for product protection and preservation in the wood industry.


WHY NANOTECHNOLOGY ?

NANOARC's atomically-architectured quantum materials present an effective broad spectrum tool for the protection of wood against mold/fungal decay, humidity-induced degradation and termites. As wood preservatives, these atomically-architectured materials can be utilized in low concentration, to promote substantial results in terms of longterm protection, without causing colour changes to the wood or negatively impacting the environment.
